"For the word of God
is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates
even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is
hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before
the eyes of him to whom we must give account."
-Hebrews 4: 12-13
Good Medicine
"For my thoughts are
not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher
than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. As the
rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it
without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that
it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word
that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but
will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which
I sent it." (Isaiah 55: 8-11)
The Word of God is like a good medicine.
When we are ill enough that we are miserable we often go to a doctor
to find a 'cure.' Many times the doctor will give us a prescription,
a antibiotic, to help us. We often have to take the medicine two
or three times a day sometimes for as long as a couple of weeks.
Eventually the 'medicine' will work its way into our bodies and
defeat the illness within us making us healthy again.
The Word of God is like a good antibiotic. Sin works its way into
our lives and makes us 'unhealthy.' We can find the cure in the
truth of God's Word. But like medicine we need to take our doses
regularly and over period of time. Eventually truth and God's Word
will make us whole and healthy again.
We have to be a willing patient. When we suffer from a physical
illness we willingly go to the doctor to find a cure, relief. In
the same way we have to go to God, the Great Physician, and His
Word to help us when we are not 'whole' or 'healthy in our lives.
Then when we realize the 'medicine' we need to take and we need
to be willing to follow the directions and take our 'medicine' (God's
Word) until we are well again.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!

"As for God, his way is perfect, the word of the Lord is
flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For who
is God, besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It
is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect."
