He replied, "Because you
have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as
small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from
here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for
you."
-Matthew 17: 20
Operation Faith
Recently at Maple Grove we heard
a great message about 'New Beginnings' and 'Moving Forward.' The
scripture for that sermon came from Joshua 1: 1-9 (look it
up). Moses has passed away and now a new leader, Joshua, has emerged
to lead the Israelite people into the Promised Land. They are camped
out on the Jordan River and in these verses God is giving His commands
to Joshua. In verse 9 we read, "Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous. Do not not be terrified; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua
1: 9) The Isralite tribes were heading into uncharted territory.
Many enemies and obstacles lay before them. How were they going
to succeed? By faith! By having faith that the Lord their God would
see them through!
Do you have that kind of faith? We believe in and worship a God
who operates on faith. Situations and circumstances do not matter.
God works by faith! He replied, "Because you have so little
faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard
seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and
it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew
17: 20) Jesus tells us that all we need is 'faith as small as
a mustard seed' and we can make mountains move. Are there mountains
in your life right now? The time when we need faith is when we come
up against obstacles. It is in these (and all times) that we must
rely on our faith. "When you pass through the rivers, they
will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will
not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the
Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..." (Isaiah
43: 2-3). Joshua and the Israelites overcame all odds and triumphed
in the Promised Land. Not because of anything they did but because
of their faith in God to see them through. The same can be true
for you and I today. No matter the situation before you, you too
will overcome. "...'Not by might nor by power, but by my
Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty." (Zechariah 4: 6) We will
overcome not by anything we do but by Operation Faith! Amen!
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!

is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power,
but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty"
