Good Monday morning to you. It is
the start of the 2004-2005 school year. I pray that everyone has
had a great summer. Lord willing, I will be sending a Hello From
Maple Grove e-mail at the beginning of each school week throughout
this coming school year. I pray that in some small way that these
e-mails will turn hearts and minds to God. Feel free to forward
them to others or send me e-mail addresses of people who might like
to receive them. Have a great week and remember God is good! - Shan
"But seek first his kingdom
and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you as
well." -Matthew 6: 33
Seeking?
Imagine a conversation between two
people that goes something like this: #1 "Did you find them?"
#2 "Find what?" #1 "Happiness, peace, joy, love."
#2 "I didn't know they were missing?" #1 "So did
you find them?" #2 "Well no, I wasn't looking." #1
"Then how are you going to find them?"
Have you ever lost something valuable? Did you search, perhaps even
frantically, for it until it was found? I know that I have. But
do you realize that you will not find something that you are not
looking for? In the made up conversation above one friend asks another
if they have found 'happiness,' 'peace,' 'joy,' & 'love.' The
other replies that they hadn't because they did not realize that
those things were 'missing.' They were not looking for them.
It is that way for many of us with God. We are not seeking Him.
We easily get 'distracted' by the things of this world that we think
will bring us happiness, peace, joy, and love only to realize that
in fact something is missing. God desires for us to find our happiness,
peace, joy, and love in Him. He wants us to believe in Him, to seek
Him. "And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and
that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:
6) What is it that you are seeking?
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks
receives; he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, the door will
be opened." (Matthew 7: 7-8). So what is it that you are
looking for? Are you seeking God? Truly seeking Him? Seek Him, trust
in Him, and you will find Him. You will find whatever it is that
is 'missing' in your life. Amen!
Take a moment and encourage someone this week.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!
In Christ,
