"Let us approach the
throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive
mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." -Hebrews
4:16
A Walk
In the Old Testament book of Genesis
we read the account of Enoch. "And after he became the father
of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons
and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years. Enoch walked with
God then he was no more, because God took him away." (Genesis
5: 22-24) Reading this makes me realize that 'WOW, people lived
a really long time way back then!' But seriously, what a special
relationship Enoch had with God. He 'walked' with God and he pleased
God. Is your relationship with God like that? Do you take time to
walk with God? Do you strive in your life to please Him?
Here is another example, "As he walked along, he saw Levi
son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector's booth. 'Follow me,'
Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him." (Mark 2:
14) Would you have done the same as Levi? Get up, leave your
job (and life) behind and follow Jesus? Jesus calls all of us to
follow Him, not as a teacher or pattern of good life, but as Christ,
the Son of God. Not a word of praise was offered to Levi for his
decision to walk with Christ but can you imagine the reward? The
reward of walking with the very Son of God! To have a relationship
with Him!
What can this relationship give you? Confidence! "Let us
approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive
mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews
4: 16) Everyone of us will have times of need in our lives.
God's great mercy and grace will get us through. So take some time
and take a walk with God this week. Let Him know that you desire
a special relationship with Him as He does with you. And rest in
the confidence that walking with God provides. Amen.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!

"Blessed are those who
have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence,
O Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your
righteousness. For you are their glory and strength, and by your
favor you exalt our horn. Indeed our shield belongs to the Lord,
our king, to the Holy One of Israel."
-Psalm 89: 15-18
