"This is what the Lord
says: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is and walk in it, and you will find rest
for your souls. But you said We will not walk in it." -Jeremiah
6: 16
The Mirror
I saw a man the other day. By the
world's standards most people would consider him to be a good person.
He loves his family, works hard at his job, attends church regularly,
and has never been accused of any crime. On the outside he looks
confident, knowledgeable. On the inside he has many questions, uncertainties.
He is a man who knows and loves the Lord and yet at any moment is
capable of replacing the Lord's love with the 'idols' of this world.
He is a man capable of loving his fellow man in one moment and in
the next is ready to 'cast the stone of judgment' (see Matthew
7: 3-4 below). A man, who regardless of the world's opinion
of him, is in need of God's grace every day. I met a man the other
day; his reflection I saw in the mirror.
Have you looked in the mirror lately? What did you see? "May
our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and
by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage
your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word."
(2nd Thessalonians 2: 16) I pray that we never take for granted
the grace that our Lord has given us. Every time we look into the
mirror let us not forget who we are, where we came from, and whom
we serve. Let us find 'eternal encouragement and good hope' and
give thanks to our Lord for all He has done for us. As we look into
the mirror may we find the strength to 'ask where the good way is
and walk in it' and find 'rest for our souls.' (see Jeremiah
6: 16 above) Amen!
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a good week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!
in Christ,

"Why do you look at the
speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the
plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me
take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank
in your own eye?"
