"Again, it will be like
a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted
his property to them. To one he gave five talents of money, to another
two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability.
then he went on his journey."
-Matthew 25: 14-15
What Are You Doing?
What are doing with the gifts and
abilities that God has given you? In Matthew 25: 14-30 Jesus
gives 'The Parable of the Talents' (take a moment and go read it).
In that parable, are you like the servant who was given the 5 talents
and goes out to work and gains 5 more (v. 16)? Or the servant given
two talents who went gained two more (v. 17)? Or are you like the
servant who received the one talent and dug a whole in the ground
in which to save it (v. 18)?
God wants us to serve Him. We each have been blessed with gifts
and abilities in which to work for Him and to bring Him honor and
glory. Are you using your gifts? In the 'Parable of the Talents'
what does the master say to the servants who had worked to double
what they were given? "His master replied, Well done, good
and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things;
I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's
happiness!"
(Matthew 25: 21 & 23) He entrusted each of them with more.
But what does the master say to the servant who had hidden his talent
in the ground? "You wicked and lazy servant!" (Matthew
25: 26) "Take the talent from him and give it to the one who
has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and
he will have abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has
will be taken from him. And throw that worthless servant outside,
into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
(Matthew 25: 28-30) Which servant are you? Which servant do
you want to be? Are you using what God has given you?
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!
