Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal."
-Isaiah 26: 4
Your House
Is your house built upon a solid
foundation? Can you say with confidence, "The Lord is my
rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I
take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from
my enemies." (Psalm 18: 2-3) We like to think that our
homes, our houses, our lives are built upon solid foundations. Even
if they are not we buy 'insurance' that will get us through in a
time of emergency or need. But just how solid is the foundation
that your house ('your life') sits upon?
Jesus uses a parable in the book of Matthew (chapter 7 verses
24-27) to get us thinking about 'Wise and Foolish Builders.' "Therefore
everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice
is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came
down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that
house, yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the
rock." (Matthew 7: 24-25) Is Jesus talking about you? What
is your life ('your house') built on? The teachings of Jesus are
eternal. They are a 'foundation' of truth upon which all people
who build their house ('their lives') upon it shall never perish.
A house built upon the 'Rock' of the Lord will stand strong forever.
"Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the
Rock eternal." (Isaiah 26: 4)
But what about those who build their houses elsewhere? "But
everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into
practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The
rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against
that house, and it fell with a great crash." (Matthew 7: 26-27)
You know, none of us like to be called a fool, but are you one?
Nobody can answer that question but you. Read in 2nd Timothy
2: 19 (below) what it says about God's foundation. It is solid
and stands firm! But it is also inscribed with these words, "The
Lord knows those who are his." and "Everyone who
confesses the name of the Lord, must turn from wickedness."
(2nd Timothy 2: 19). God has given us clear directions for living
or building our houses. Jesus' teachings are available for all us
to read and follow. It is there in the Bible. Look for yourself.
Then you can decide if you are the 'wise' or the 'foolish' builder.
Just examine your house ('your life') and see if you have built
it upon the sand or the Rock! Amen.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!

"Nevertheless, God's solid
foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: 'The Lord
knows those who are his,' and 'Everyone who confesses the name of
the Lord, must turn away from wickedness.' "
