Treasure

If we could look into the heart of our Lord, we'd find treasures untold. Yet what is it that God treasures? Deuteronomy 7:6 reminds us. “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.” Did you hear that? ‘His treasured possession.’ In God’s eyes you are a treasure! A treasure that He sacrificed everything He had to purchase! What great news! What great love He has for you.

And what does he ask in return? Our heart! “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6: 5 God’s first commandment. Lord we praise you today. We thank you for thinking of us as a treasure. A treasure that You have purchased for a great price. Help us Lord to live our lives as a worthy treasure for You. Cleanse us Lord. Change us. Let Your love flow from us through a purified heart. Help us to reflect Your love to those around us and help them to see the 'Treasure' that they are in Your eyes. Amen!
