"In
the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see
your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." -Matthew
5: 16
This Little Light Of Mine
God challenges each of us to live our lives for
Him. People may or may not remember the words we tell them but they
cannot deny the evidence of their own eyes. "Let your light
shine before men..." (Matthew 5: 16 above). This
verse is an example of the importance of our actions. Living your
life to serve and praise God will have an impact on those around
you. More powerful than words, your willingness to serve God is
a testimony of your love for Him, and when others "see your
good deeds" then it will lead them to "praise your Father
in heaven." (Matthew 5: 16)
"Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk
in the light of the Lord." (Isaiah 2: 5) So as you go through
each day of this week may you choose to "walk in the light
of the Lord." As people see you and watch you each day may
they see the evidence of God's love in your life. Let others see
His light in your smile, in the spring in your step, in the generosity
and concern that you show to those around you. take the love of
the Lord and share it with those around you. Saint Francis Assisi
once said, 'Spread the Gospel everywhere, and if necessary use words.'
Actions do speak louder than words. As the children's song says,
'This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.' Let the
light of the Lord shine through your life!
Take a moment and encourage someone this week.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let
me know if you have any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great
week and remember to smile :), the Lord loves you!
