"He who dwells in the
shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the almighty.
I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God,
in whom I trust.' "
Sanctuary
What is a sanctuary? I looked the
word up in 'The American Heritage Dictionary.' Sanctuary: A sacred
place, such as a church or temple. A church or other sacred place
in which fugitives formerly were immune to arrest or punishment.
Any place of refuge or asylum. All of these were part of the definition
of a sanctuary. So where is your sanctuary? For me, I find my sanctuary
in the Lord.
What could be a more 'sacred place' than being in the presence of
the Lord? Where can I, a fugitive, find immunity from punishment
if not in the Lord? Where do I find refuge? I find it in the Lord!
The Lord is our sanctuary. In Him we can find peace. "Peace
I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the
world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
(John 14: 27) Thank you Lord!
Is the Lord your sanctuary? If the answer is, 'yes,' then be sure
to praise Him for it. Read Psalm 63: 1-5, below. Take time
to praise God and worship Him. "Come, let us bow down in
worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care."
(Psalm 95: 6-7) There are times in all of our lives when we
need a place of refuge. When we need a sacred, holy place. A place
where we can find immunity. A place where we can find peace. We
have all of those things in the Lord. He is our sanctuary! Amen!
Take a moment and encourage someone this week.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!
In Christ,

"O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest
of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you."
-Psalm 63: 1-5
