"In
the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
-Genesis 1: 1
Questions?
Between the two verses that appear at the top
(Genesis 1: 1) and the bottom (Revelation 22: 21)
of this e-mail lies the greatest story ever told. These two verses
represent the beginning and the end of that story. It is a love
story about God, our creator, and his most prized creation, mankind,
people like you and me. You can read this story in the Bible. For
many people reading the story may leave more questions than answers.
It is true that we can't understand everything that we read about
in the Bible. But I do pray that we don't get 'hung up' on all the
questions we may have. For the basics can be found in these two
verses. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth." (Genesis 1: 1) Yes, there is a God and He created
everything. "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people.
Amen. " (Revelation 22: 21) God's greatest gift to us is
the grace that can be found through His Son, Jesus. Over simplified?
Perhaps. These two verses don't answer every question but they do
remind us of what is most important. God, our creator, loves us
enough to send His one and only Son, Jesus, so that we may find
grace through Him.
When I think of questions my three children come
to mind. They are always asking questions....'Dad why did..."'
Or 'Dad why is...?' They have so many questions and I must confess
that I don't always have the answers. Children are full of questions,
yet here are some comments that Jesus makes about children. "Let
the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone
who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will
never enter it." (Mark 10: 14-15) And, '...I tell you
the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you
will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles
himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.'
(Matthew 18: 3) Why would Jesus say these things? While children
may ask a lot of questions in their attempt to understand the world
they live in they also have a tremendous faith in the answers they
are given. Having the faith of a child in Jesus means that we don't
need to have every question answered. We just believe! Amen.
Take a moment and encourage someone this week.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let
me know if you have any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great
week and remember to smile :), the Lord loves you!
In Christ,
