"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world..."
-Psalm 19: 1-4

Evidence

We live in a world where people demand evidence before they believe in something. Look at our justice system. A court room battle where each side tries to show that all the evidence presented in the trial proves that their side is right. The verdict that is delivered by the jury or judge is based on the evidence that has been provided. Or perhaps you have heard the phrase, 'I'll believe it when I see it.?' People want to have evidence before they believe in something. So is there evidence that God exists? Is He really there?

I would first answer that question by telling you to 'just open your eyes!' The proof is all around you. Think of a sunset or a sunrise. Think about the awesomeness of a night sky full of wondrous stars. Think of the beauty of a flower. What about love, joy, peace, or happiness? Are these all things that just happened by chance? NO! I believe that they are all powerful evidence of an AWESOME GOD. Do you need further proof? Then look to the Bible and see what it has to say. Read the verses that are above and below this e-mail (Psalm 19: 1-4 & Psalm 97: 1-6). Both are written examples of the evidence of God. The evangelist, Paul, warns us of what happens when mankind denies the obvious evidence of God's existence. "The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." (Romans 1: 18-20) The evidence is 'plain to see' and 'men are without excuse.' Open your Bibles and read on in Romans 1: 21-32 to see the result of what happens when men deny God and turn away from Him.

But what about those who accept the evidence and who turn to God? "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters. Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob." (Psalm 24: 1-6) So what about you? Do you believe all the evidence that is around you of God? The choice is yours. I do believe and praise be to God for His amazing love, patience, and mercy that He has for all who believe. Amen.

Take a moment and encourage someone this week.

I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to smile :), The Lord loves you!

In Christ,

Shan D. Hartsough

"The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side. His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness and all the peoples see his glory."
-Psalm 97: 1-6
