"As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, 'Have mercy on us, Son of David!' When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, 'Do you believe that I am able to do this?' 'Yes, Lord,' they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, 'According to your faith will it be done to you'; and their sight was restored..."
-Matthew 9: 27-30

Where There Is Faith

A plaque on a wall caught my eye recently. It read, 'Faith is not believing that God can but knowing that He will.' Faith is a powerful thing. With faith, all things, no matter the situation are possible. Without faith there is often despair and no hope. Faith is an amazing thing and Jesus always works where there is faith. Even a small amount of faith can achieve awesome things. Jesus tells us in Matthew 17: 20: "He replied, 'Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.' " Have you ever felt that your faith is as 'small as a mustard seed?' I know I have. Yet, Jesus assures us, that even a small amount of faith can do the impossible.

'Faith is not believing that God can but knowing that He will.' In Luke chapter 4 we read the account of Jesus being rejected in his hometown of Nazareth. "I tell you the truth," he continued, "no prophet is accepted in his hometown. I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah's time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed-only Naaman the Syrian." (Luke 4: 24-27) Elijah and Elisha were great prophets of the Lord. You can read about them in 1st & 2nd Kings. In the examples given here by Jesus, Elijah and Elisha were able to perform great miracles where they found faith. The miracles were performed for two people who were not Jewish and yet they had faith that God would deliver them. God works where there is faith.

'Faith is not believing that God can but knowing that He will.' "For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does." (Psalm 33: 4) How is your faith doing these days? I close with the lyrics from the chorus of the 4Him song, 'Where There Is Faith.'

Where there is faith
There is a voice calling, keep walking
You're not alone in this world
Where there is faith
There is a peace like a child sleeping
Hope everlasting in He who is able to
Bear every burden, to heal every hurt in my heart
It is a wonderful, powerful place
Where there is faith

Amen!

Take a moment and encourage someone this week.

I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have any prayer concerns or praises. Have a great week and remember to smile :), the Lord loves you!

Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, 'Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.' "
-2nd Chronicles 20: 20
