" 'For I know the plans
I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not
to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' "
-Jeremiah 29: 11
He Knows My Name
Can you remember the TV show, 'Cheers?'
The show was proceeded by a song that had these lyrics, 'Do you
want to go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad
you came....' Do ever long for 'someone that knows your name?' A
friend, a dear friend, who knows you, really knows you, and despite
knowing all that there is to know about you, 'the good, the bad,
the ugly,' still loves you? Then I have great news for you! You
have a friend who does all these things and more. God knows you!
God loves you! Want proof? Here are just a few (of the many, many)
examples from the Bible that shows each of us that God does know
us, that He loves us.
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he
created him; male and female he created them." (Genesis 1:
29)
"O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when
I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern
my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways."
(Psalm 139: 1-3)
"For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of
your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' " (Acts 17:
28)
"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through
Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was
reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins
against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation."
(2nd Corinthians 5: 18-19)
"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that
we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!..."
(1 John 3: 1)
God does know your name. He knows everything about you, and He loves
you! You are precious to Him. "And even the very hairs of your
head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than
many sparrows." (Matthew 10: 30-31). How much does He love
you? Just look at Luke 19: 30 "When he had received the drink,
Jesus said, 'It is finished.' With that, he bowed his head and gave
up his spirit." He loves you enough to sacrifice His Son, Jesus,
for your (for my) sins. And what does that sacrifice do for us?
"This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men
to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is
one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a ransom for all men-the testimony given in
its proper time." (2nd Corinthians 2: 3-6) That sacrifice purchased
for us salvation, a salvation that will allow us to live eternity
with God.
Thank you Lord! Thank you for knowing me, for loving me! Help me
Lord to live my life for you. To share with others how You know
me, to share with others that You love me, and to share that love
with so many in desperate need of it. Amen!
Take a moment and encourage someone this week.
I pray that all is well with you. Please let me know if you have
any praises or prayer concerns. Have a great week and remember to
smile :), the Lord loves you!
In Christ,

"For you created my inmost
being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because
I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I
know that full well."
-Psalm 139: 13-14
